Planetary Occupations in Vedic Astrology
The rules for finding planetary occupation is given below:
- Count always from Aries to the lagna – (1)
- Count again from lagna to the planet whose occupation is wanted – (2)
- Add figure (1) and (2)
- Multiply the answer by 2
- Now, Multiply the answer by the number of years of the planetary dasha (period) as per Vimishottari dasha. Sun – 6, Moon – 10, Mars – 7, Rahu – 18, Jupiter – 16, Saturn – 19, Mercury – 17, Ketu – 7, Venus – 20.
- Then, divide the result by 27.
- The remainder expresses the state in which a planet is for the time being.
